Instagram Reels downloader: choose the video link
Use an individual Reel or video-post link to request an Instagram video download. A Reel, a profile and a photo carousel are different kinds of links: start with the page that opens the actual video you want to save.
A Reel URL identifies one short video, while a profile URL points to an account containing many posts. Open the Reel itself before copying the link. For a mixed carousel, IOdown processes at most one media item; it does not export the whole carousel or download still photos. Public posts can still fail if Instagram asks the download server to sign in.

A compatible MP4
Compatible video and audio tracks are packaged into an MP4 when available. The file does not include the surrounding post, comments or website interface. Still images are not converted into videos.
Source quality, not upscaling
Resolution depends on the versions the source provides. IOdown does not turn a low-resolution upload into HD or 4K. Missing or muted source audio cannot be recreated by downloading it.
No IOdown watermark added
The tool does not add its own branding to the file. Logos, captions and watermarks already embedded in the source remain. Downloading is different from editing or removing a watermark.

iPhone or iPad
Use your browser’s download action when the file opens. Check the browser’s downloads list and the Files app. If the share menu offers Save Video for a compatible video, you can also save it to Photos. Audio-only MP4 files belong in Files or an audio player.
Android
Confirm the browser’s download prompt, then check Downloads in your file manager. A saved video may also appear in your gallery. If it only opens in a player, use the browser or player menu to save the file.
Windows or Mac
Choose Download MP4 and use the browser’s download list to locate the file. If a player opens instead, use its save action. Keep the .mp4 extension and open the result in a compatible media player.
WHEN A LINK DOES NOT WORK
Instagram download troubleshooting
Start with this Instagram check
If a public Reel plays in your logged-in Instagram app but fails here, the server may be receiving a login check. Opening it on your phone does not give IOdown your session. A private-account link cannot be made public by changing its URL.
- The link is rejected
- Use the full HTTPS page URL for one media item. Remove surrounding share-message text, but keep the media ID and any required query parameters. A profile, search page or direct file link is not the same as a media page.
- The source refuses access
- A public page can still be restricted by region, login requirements or server access checks. Your browser session is not shared with IOdown. Follow the specific error shown instead of repeatedly submitting the same link.
- Processing takes longer than expected
- Check whether progress is still moving. Long recordings and slow source hosts take more time. If the service asks you to wait because it is busy, wait before creating another request.
- The download link expired
- Prepared files are temporary. Submit the original media-page link again to request a new copy, provided the source is still accessible. The expiry shown with the result is the time to follow.

Can I use an Instagram downloader without watermark?
IOdown does not add its own watermark to the downloaded file. If Instagram provides a compatible version without a watermark, that version can be saved. Text, logos and watermarks already embedded in the source video remain; IOdown is not a watermark-removal editor.
Does the Instagram downloader work without login?
You do not need an IOdown account and this page does not ask for your Instagram password. However, Instagram may require the server to authenticate even for a public Reel. Those links cannot be downloaded through this anonymous tool.
How do I download from Instagram?

Which Instagram links does IOdown support?

IOdown processes one item at a time when the source exposes a compatible MP4 or M4A stream. Bulk collections, live streams, DRM-protected media, and sign-in-only content are not supported. Some links are currently affected by known upstream failures.
Why is my Instagram download unavailable?
The Instagram item may have been deleted, made private, restricted by region, or protected by a login or DRM. Changes on Instagram can also break extraction. A listing is not a guarantee that a particular URL works.
Can I download Instagram videos as MP4 without an app?
You can request an available MP4 in your browser without installing an app or creating an IOdown account. Quality, audio, and watermarks depend on the source. This tool does not remove DRM, bypass access controls, or guarantee a particular resolution.
Can I save an entire Instagram playlist or live stream?
No. Paste an individual, completed media item from Instagram. Each request saves at most one file and is subject to file-size and server-capacity limits.
How long can I save my Instagram download?
The file is temporarily stored and normally removed 15 minutes after processing finishes. Check the expiry shown next to the download and save it before that time. Only download content you own or have permission to save.
What is the file size limit for Instagram downloads?
Each file is limited to 10 GiB. There is no overall download time limit. Availability depends on the source and the media format.
