Preview your video, hit Download MP4, and you’re all set.
Request a Facebook video or Reel download from its own public page. Use a permalink to the video rather than a news-feed URL or a link to the creator’s profile.
Reels and regular video posts can have different URL shapes, but both need to identify one video. A link shared from a private group may work for group members while remaining unavailable to an anonymous download server. If the share menu gives you a feed link, open the video in its own page and copy that address instead.
| Page type | URL or starting point | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Reel | https://www.facebook.com/reel/VIDEO_ID | Use the individual Reel page. |
| Video post | https://www.facebook.com/PAGE/videos/VIDEO_ID/ | Choose a public video permalink. |
Find the original media on Facebook, then copy the individual item’s link.
Compatible video and audio tracks are packaged into an MP4 when available. The file does not include the surrounding post, comments or website interface. Still images are not converted into videos.
Resolution depends on the versions the source provides. IOdown does not turn a low-resolution upload into HD or 4K. Missing or muted source audio cannot be recreated by downloading it.
The tool does not add its own branding to the file. Logos, captions and watermarks already embedded in the source remain. Downloading is different from editing or removing a watermark.
Keep this page open until processing finishes. Preview the result, then choose Download MP4 before the expiry time shown next to the file.
Use your browser’s download action when the file opens. Check the browser’s downloads list and the Files app. If the share menu offers Save Video for a compatible video, you can also save it to Photos. Audio-only MP4 files belong in Files or an audio player.
Confirm the browser’s download prompt, then check Downloads in your file manager. A saved video may also appear in your gallery. If it only opens in a player, use the browser or player menu to save the file.
Choose Download MP4 and use the browser’s download list to locate the file. If a player opens instead, use its save action. Keep the .mp4 extension and open the result in a compatible media player.
Check whether the post belongs to a private group or requires a Facebook login. IOdown cannot inherit your group membership or use the account signed in on your phone.
Answers about links, files and availability.
If the accessible source includes an audio track, IOdown keeps it when packaging the MP4. Music that Facebook has muted or excluded from the source cannot be restored. Preview the result before saving.

Copy the permalink to a public Facebook video or Reel. Posts in private groups and videos that require a Facebook login may be unavailable. IOdown processes one item at a time when the source exposes a compatible MP4 or M4A stream. Bulk collections, live streams, DRM-protected media, and sign-in-only content are not supported.
The Facebook item may have been deleted, made private, restricted by region, or protected by a login or DRM. Changes on Facebook can also break extraction. A listing is not a guarantee that a particular URL works.
You can request an available MP4 in your browser without installing an app or creating an IOdown account. Quality, audio, and watermarks depend on the source. This tool does not remove DRM, bypass access controls, or guarantee a particular resolution.
No. Paste an individual, completed media item from Facebook. Each request saves at most one file and is subject to file-size and server-capacity limits.
The file is temporarily stored and normally removed 15 minutes after processing finishes. Check the expiry shown next to the download and save it before that time. Only download content you own or have permission to save.
Each file is limited to 10 GiB. There is no overall download time limit. Availability depends on the source and the media format.
