To download video from Twitch, copy the individual item’s link, paste it into IOdown and select Get video. Once processing finishes, check the result and choose Download MP4 to save a file to your device. Use only content you own or have permission to download.
Copy the Twitch video link
Open a published Twitch Clip or a completed recorded video and copy its individual link. Use a clips.twitch.tv Clip URL or the recording’s /videos/ address, rather than the channel’s live page.
Paste the link and request the file
Paste the URL into the Video link field above and select Get video. Keep the page open while the request is queued and processed. If an error appears, read it before retrying; a valid link does not guarantee access to the media.
Preview and save the MP4
When a file is ready, play the preview and check its duration and sound. Choose Download MP4 before the displayed expiry time. Locate the file in your browser’s downloads list or your device’s Files or Downloads folder.
This workflow does not capture an ongoing stream or trim a recording to selected timestamps. Muted sections remain muted, and subscriber-only recordings may not be accessible.

Twitch Clips versus recorded broadcasts
Download an available Twitch Clip or completed recording using its own URL. A channel page and an ongoing broadcast are not completed media items.
A Clip identifies a short excerpt, while a /videos/ URL identifies a recording that can be much longer. Start with a Clip when you only need that excerpt; IOdown does not trim a full recording to timestamps. Deleted recordings, subscriber-only videos and muted sections depend on Twitch’s source availability.

Twitch downloads: format, quality and watermarks
Source quality, not upscaling
Resolution depends on the versions the source provides. IOdown does not turn a low-resolution upload into HD or 4K. Missing or muted source audio cannot be recreated by downloading it.
No IOdown watermark added
The tool does not add its own branding to the file. Logos, captions and watermarks already embedded in the source remain. Downloading is different from editing or removing a watermark.

iPhone or iPad
Use your browser’s download action when the file opens. Check the browser’s downloads list and the Files app. If the share menu offers Save Video for a compatible video, you can also save it to Photos. Audio-only MP4 files belong in Files or an audio player.
Android
Confirm the browser’s download prompt, then check Downloads in your file manager. A saved video may also appear in your gallery. If it only opens in a player, use the browser or player menu to save the file.
Windows or Mac
Choose Download MP4 and use the browser’s download list to locate the file. If a player opens instead, use its save action. Keep the .mp4 extension and open the result in a compatible media player.
WHEN A LINK DOES NOT WORK
Twitch download troubleshooting
Start with this Twitch check
If a recording has muted segments, saving the file does not recover the missing audio. Ongoing livestreams cannot be captured with this tool.
- The link is rejected
- Use the full HTTPS page URL for one media item. Remove surrounding share-message text, but keep the media ID and any required query parameters. A profile, search page or direct file link is not the same as a media page.
- The source refuses access
- A public page can still be restricted by region, login requirements or server access checks. Your browser session is not shared with IOdown. Follow the specific error shown instead of repeatedly submitting the same link.
- Processing takes longer than expected
- Check whether progress is still moving. Long recordings and slow source hosts take more time. If the service asks you to wait because it is busy, wait before creating another request.
- The download link expired
- Prepared files are temporary. Submit the original media-page link again to request a new copy, provided the source is still accessible. The expiry shown with the result is the time to follow.

The Twitch item may have been deleted, made private, restricted by region, or protected by a login or DRM. Changes on Twitch can also break extraction. A listing is not a guarantee that a particular URL works.
Can I download Twitch videos as MP4 without an app?
You can request an available MP4 in your browser without installing an app or creating an IOdown account. Quality, audio, and watermarks depend on the source. This tool does not remove DRM, bypass access controls, or guarantee a particular resolution.
Can I save an entire Twitch playlist or live stream?
No. Paste an individual, completed media item from Twitch. Each request saves at most one file and is subject to file-size and server-capacity limits.
How long can I save my Twitch download?
